DONATE ITEMS

IDES is deploying response teams to affected areas. If you can donate items (see the list below) please drop them off at the North Port or Port Charlotte Campus during weekend service hours or at the Port Charlotte Campus during the week between 9AM and 4PM.

Needed Donation Items:
– 50:1 Chainsaw Fuel
– 1×2 Furring Strips
– 20 x 30 or Smaller Tarps
– Construction Grade Trash Bags
– Mold Control

SPECIAL NEEDS SHELTER

In the event of a disaster, New Day Christian Church Port Charlotte Campus transforms into a Special Needs Shelter (Oxygen-dependent) for Charlotte County Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County.

FLORIDA SPECIAL NEEDS REGISTRY

The Florida Department of Health, in coordination with its county health departments and each local emergency management agency in the state, developed a registry for persons with special needs to register with their local emergency management agency to receive assistance during a disaster. Registration is required to receive assistance.
