This weekend we continue our series on the book of 1 Thessalonians, “Encouraging Words for Discouraging Times.” Everybody could use some encouragement right now and nothing encourages us like the study of God’s Word. This book of 1 Thessalonians is particularly appropriate because it was written as a letter of encouragement after Paul heard good news about their faithfulness even in the midst of severe persecution. The Holy Spirit led Paul to write these words so that the Thessalonians would be encouraged, and then preserved these words for us so that we could be encouraged too.
